One of the more exiting parts of my week is when I get to work on a project that is tailored to the client. Working with others is easily my favourite thing to do. I also try to stick to my roots and do the occasional piece of upcycled work. All that said, please contact me if you're looking to have a specific piece made for your home.

I was asked to build these shelves by the husband of a couple who had just moved in to a new build. The room was rather box-y, but at the same time filled with books all over the floor (he’s very studious).

Then in came me with this design. This was one of the more straight forward bespoke projects to work on. I pretty much sent over my initial thoughts and they agreed.

Fitting shelves into a carpeted room is not always the easiest because it’s takes a while for everything to settle, but once the shelves were in, the room was transformed. What was a fairly plain room with not much happening, was now made to feel so much bigger, more organised and felt like a room with a purpose. I also fitted some dimmable LEDs along the front of each shelf to add a little more pazazz.
