One of the more exiting parts of my week is when I get to work on a project that is tailored to the client. Working with others is easily my favourite thing to do. I also try to stick to my roots and do the occasional piece of upcycled work. All that said, please contact me if you're looking to have a specific piece made for your home.
Obviously, the work displayed here is a selection of my favourite projects and so is always being updated. Do keep coming back to see what new things I have been doing!
These shelves were actually a project that I took on to finish off my parent’s new kitchen. There was a slight mix up with the company that had done the rest of the work and this final finishing touch ended up not quite meeting the specification, so in stepped me.
Fortunately I had been there to eavesdrop on the conversation where they outlined what they wanted for the shelves and knew exactly what they were looking for.
So I set to work with some hundred year old oak to fit with the aesthetic of the rest of the features of the kitchen. I flattened the tops of both sides as there was a significant amount of cupping, and then cut the grooves for the wires and the strip lights, which were just a push fit.
There was a little bit of work that needed to be done to the bottoms to get them level but soon enough, the parents had exactly what they were looking for, and I got some free oak from the original shelves out of the deal too…
