Most of my time is spent crafting bespoke pieces that I have worked on with the client to find exactly what they want. This is also where I am able to upcycle every now and again, and go back to where this whole thing started.

I am currently based in Wiston, West Sussex working on a whole range of products, from smaller household items sold at local stores, to working with local people on full kitchens. So if you would like some thoughts on any furniture that you’re wanting in the house, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

The Products

Although most of the designs created at Zayin are a mix of a wide range of bespoke furniture, and smaller products for the home, my favourite projects to work on are what I call ‘feature tables’ - tables that can line a room, welcome you into your home or become a centre piece. Although I do love when I get to build a big kitchen table, there is so much that you can do when you down-size a little.

I am heavily influenced by the Bauhaus movement. The school that introduced this style taught that good design must take everything to it's most basic forms and colours - squares, circles, triangles; red, yellow, blue etc... For me, the modern approach of minimalism is the name of the game.

In all my designs, I try to stay as chemical-free as possible. With so many finishes, it's amazing how many warnings are on the side of the tin (even the seemingly natural ones!).

On the subject of the environment, I do aim to use either reclaimed wood (carefully selected with longevity in mind) or timber from well ecologically managed trees in all my work.
